Child protection policy
Published in full, so you can read it before you enrol rather than after. It applies to every teacher and every member of staff, without exception.
Progmetics Education places the safety and wellbeing of every child above every commercial consideration. This policy applies to every teacher, employee, contractor and volunteer working with us, without exception. It is published in full because parents are entitled to read it before they enrol, not after.
1. Our commitments
- Every child has the right to learn in an environment free from harm, humiliation, intimidation and discrimination.
- Every parent may enter any live class their child attends, at any time, without notice or permission.
- Every concern raised is taken seriously, recorded, and acted upon. No concern is treated as too small.
- No child is ever asked to keep information from their parents.
2. Teacher screening
Before a teacher takes a class alone, we complete identity verification, qualification verification, reference checks with previous employers, background verification appropriate to their jurisdiction, and mandatory child protection training. Teachers work a supervised probation period with observed sessions before being assigned their own batch.
3. Rules governing online contact
- No private one-to-one contact. Teachers may not contact a student privately by phone, message, email or social media. All communication runs through official Progmetics channels with a parent or the company copied in.
- No personal social media contact. Teachers may not connect with, follow, or accept requests from students on personal accounts.
- No off-platform sessions. Teaching takes place only on the official platform. Private paid tuition arranged directly between a teacher and a family is prohibited and is grounds for termination.
- Cameras on, in a suitable setting. Teachers must teach from an appropriate, neutral setting with the camera on for the full session.
- No unsupervised one-to-one classes with a single child unless a parent is present in the session.
4. In-class conduct
Teachers must not shout at, mock, belittle, label or compare children unfavourably. Discipline is handled through structure and escalation to the academic lead, never through public humiliation. Physical description of a child's appearance, family circumstances or financial situation is not acceptable in any context.
5. Reporting a concern
Any parent, student, teacher or member of staff may raise a concern at any time by emailing support@progmetics.com with “Child protection concern” in the subject line, or by WhatsApp on +971 56 837 6849.
- The concern is acknowledged within one working day.
- The named safeguarding lead reviews it and, where relevant, suspends the teacher from all classes while the review runs.
- Parents receive an outcome in writing.
- Where there is any indication of a criminal matter, we report it to the appropriate authority in the relevant jurisdiction. We do not weigh reputational impact against a child's safety.
6. Recordings, images and data
Classes are not distributed or downloadable. Session recordings, where retained for quality and safeguarding review, are held securely, accessed only by authorised staff, and deleted on schedule. We never publish a child's image, full name, school or location in marketing material without written parental consent, which may be withdrawn at any time.
7. Age and consent
All accounts are opened and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. Children do not hold independent accounts. Parents may request deletion of their child's data at any time by writing to support@progmetics.com.
8. Review
This policy is reviewed at least annually and after any reported incident. The current version is always the one published on this page.
