CBSE Maths online tuition in the UAE
In short: Progmetics teaches live online CBSE Maths to children in the UAE from Grade 3 to Grade 12. Maths has separate teachers for Grades 3 to 5, 6 to 8 and 9 to 12. For Grades 3 to 10, Maths is one of the five subjects in Regular Online Tuitions at AED 450 a month, excl. 5% VAT. Your child can also take Maths on its own through Specialised Subjects at AED 600 a month one-to-one or AED 500 in a group of three, excl. 5% VAT. In Class 11 and 12, Maths on its own is AED 650 one-to-one or AED 550 in a group of three, excl. 5% VAT. The first class is a free demo.
Maths at every stage
| Grades | Who teaches | What we work on |
|---|---|---|
| 3 to 5 | Primary Maths teachers | Number sense and study habits, sequenced against the CBSE syllabus |
| 6 to 8 | Middle-school Maths teachers | Concept depth, structured answers and the jump to abstraction |
| 9 to 10 | Senior Maths teachers (Grades 9 to 12) | Board technique, past papers under timed conditions from the second term, and both Class 10 board sittings |
| 11 to 12 | Senior Maths teachers (Grades 9 to 12) | Board answer structure, with Maths in the PCM stream or as a single subject |
Across the grades, the work is number, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics, sequenced against the CBSE syllabus. In Classes 6 to 8, Maths deserves real attention, because the Class 9 decision about Mathematics Advanced rests on this evidence.
Two-level Maths: what changes from 2026-27
CBSE has changed how Maths is examined in Classes 9 and 10:
- Class 9 in 2026-27: every student studies one common Mathematics course, assessed in an 80-mark, three-hour school-based annual exam.
- Mathematics Advanced: an optional extra paper of 25 marks in one hour, all higher-order thinking questions. It comes to the Class 10 board exam from 2027-28. Its marks are not added to the overall total.
- Internal assessment: the 20 marks of internal assessment in Class 10 Maths are the same for every student, Advanced or not.
- Standard and Basic: this two-paper scheme is discontinued, except for students in Class 10 in 2026-27, who stay on it for their boards.

Class 10 this year: Standard or Basic
Students in Class 10 in 2026-27 sit either Mathematics Standard or Mathematics Basic, and we teach the two in separate batches, because the papers ask different kinds of questions. The papers, the choice between them and both board sittings are covered on our CBSE Class 10 Maths page.
Class 11 and 12 Mathematics
In Class 11 and 12, CBSE offers Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, and a student can take only one of them (CBSE Senior Secondary Curriculum 2026-27). With us, Maths is part of the PCM stream bundle, two classes a week per subject, or a single subject at three classes a week. Students can take Maths alongside Commerce where the board allows that combination; a subject taken across streams is taught one-to-one. Class 12 is a board year, so it is taught by board-experienced staff only. More on our CBSE Class 12 tuition page.
How the classes run
- Every class is live, 55 minutes, between 2:00 PM and 9:00 PM Gulf Standard Time (GST).
- Regular Online Tuitions (Grades 3 to 10): Monday to Friday, a different subject each weekday, so Maths is one class a week, four a month, with at most six children.
- Specialised Subjects: three Maths classes a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday or on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, one-to-one or in a group of three.
- A group of three is always the same grade and the same curriculum, and you can switch between one-to-one and a group of three.
- CBSE and ICSE students are taught in separate classes.
Maths in the core plan, or on its own
| Option | Grades | Maths classes a week | Price a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular Online Tuitions (five core subjects) | 3 to 10 | 1 | AED 450, excl. 5% VAT |
| Specialised Subjects, group of three | 3 to 10 | 3 | AED 500, excl. 5% VAT |
| Specialised Subjects, one-to-one | 3 to 10 | 3 | AED 600, excl. 5% VAT |
| Maths as a single subject, group of three | 11 and 12 | 3 | AED 550, excl. 5% VAT |
| Maths as a single subject, one-to-one | 11 and 12 | 3 | AED 650, excl. 5% VAT |
| PCM stream bundle (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) | 11 and 12 | 2 | AED 950 group of three or AED 1,250 one-to-one, excl. 5% VAT |
If Maths is the only subject your child struggles with, Specialised Subjects gives it three classes a week instead of one. If your child needs steady support across all five subjects, Regular Online Tuitions is the better value. Full details are on the fees page and the Specialised Subjects page.
In an ICSE school?
ICSE Maths is taught in ICSE-only classes. See ICSE Class 10 Maths tuition for the board year, or ICSE online tuition for every grade.
Questions parents ask about CBSE Maths
Can my child take only Maths?
Yes. Through Specialised Subjects your child studies Maths on its own, three live classes a week, one-to-one or in a group of three. For Grades 3 to 10 that is AED 600 a month one-to-one or AED 500 in a group of three, excl. 5% VAT. For Class 11 and 12 it is AED 650 one-to-one or AED 550 in a group of three, excl. 5% VAT.
How many Maths classes a week does my child get?
In Regular Online Tuitions, one. The plan covers five core subjects, one each weekday, so Maths is one 55-minute class a week, four a month, in a class of at most six. Maths on its own through Specialised Subjects is three classes a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday or on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Who teaches Maths at Progmetics?
Maths has separate teachers for Grades 3 to 5, 6 to 8 and 9 to 12, so your child is taught by someone who works at that stage every day. Board-year batches in Class 10 and Class 12 are taken by board-experienced staff only.
What is Mathematics Advanced in CBSE?
From 2026-27, every Class 9 student studies one common Mathematics course, with an 80-mark, three-hour exam. Mathematics Advanced is an optional extra of 25 marks in one hour, made up of higher-order thinking questions. It reaches the Class 10 board exam in 2027-28, and its marks are not added to the overall total.
Can a Class 11 student take Mathematics with Commerce?
Yes, where the board allows the combination. A subject taken from outside the student’s stream, such as Mathematics with Commerce, is taught one-to-one. CBSE offers Mathematics and Applied Mathematics in Class 11 and 12, and a student cannot take both.
What Maths topics do you cover?
Number, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics, sequenced against the CBSE syllabus for your child’s grade. Younger children build number sense first; from Grade 9 the focus moves to board technique and past papers.
Do you teach ICSE and ISC Maths too?
Yes. ICSE Maths is taught in ICSE-only classes, never mixed with CBSE students, and Mathematics is one of the ISC subjects we teach in Class 11 and 12. See our ICSE Class 10 Maths page for the ICSE board year.
Is Maths part of Regular Online Tuitions?
Yes, for Grades 3 to 10. Regular Online Tuitions costs AED 450 a month, excl. 5% VAT, and covers five core subjects, with Maths as one of them. There is no registration fee and no annual lock-in.
